Vacancy: Control Systems Engineer
Johnson Matthey is currently seeking a Control Systems Engineer who will support both the Royston and Brimsdown sites. This is a superb opportunity to join an established, forward-thinking, technology company, were you will have the opportunity to play an integral role in the development of new products and systems.
The successful candidate will deal with escalated troubleshooting and improvement of the site control systems and network. Drive through upgrades such as alarm management, manufacturing cyber security, and improved standards for graphics and reporting. The primary focus of this role is to work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Process Safety to trouble-shoot issues and develop and implement process control and network improvement strategies across both sites.
Key responsibilities
Provide automation and process control support, configuration, and ongoing support for operations at the two production plants
Develop and implement long range plans and standards for process control improvements
Evaluates risks and classifies events in compliance with PSM standards
Develops disaster recovery plans for control systems in line with business continuity targets
Guide and train area personnel on process control methodology to assist process control improvement efforts
Support process control related activities of site capital projects
Provide process control/PLC and start-up support of facilities in order to meet production schedules and business needs
Provide assistance to area Engineers to troubleshoot process control problems
Develops/reviews/maintains/update related documentation, files, procedures, databases, drawings and schematics in order to ensure integrity of unit instrument and process control technologies
Implement Alarm management for the sites, in line with EEMUA 191
Support and Maintain Site Data Historian
Manage the control system support contracts
Implement recognised standards with regards safety related control functions
Support Operations and the Engineering team with escalated breakdowns
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will have:
Engineering degree or equivalent in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation
Extensive industrial work experience ideally within a chemical industry
Demonstrated ability to program PLC (Allen Bradley, Omron)
Experience with SCADA packages. JM preferred is Wonderware
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Instrumentation & Process Control
Demonstrated ability to work with computer applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member to accomplish objectives
Creative thinking and detail-oriented personality
Skilled and confident communicator who can clearly present ideas and solutions
Strong health and safety awareness
Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
