Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pension Buy-Out Operations Team provides ongoing administration of pension plans and services the annuitants within that book of business. The Benefit Analyst is responsible for handling all processes including but not limited to benefit calculation, retirement initiation and death claims. Review and interpret plan documents. Review multiple forms of contract level data and review complex benefit calculations accurately. Handle multiple tasks; work a task queue effectively while maintaining all service and quality standards and ensuring follow up on outstanding items. Clearly communicate complex benefit calculations in simplified terms to either internal or external parties. Understand all regulatory items that affect an annuitant's calculation. Responsible for reviewing quality of calculated manual benefit calculations and validating automated work. Involved in plan amendment process, compliance and regulatory changes and transition of new plans from New Business to ongoing operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs quality for a variety of annuitant-based services (i.e. Estimates, Pre-Deaths, Post Deaths, and Retirements etc.)
Follows general instructions or procedures and creates documentation
Must have the ability to perform comprehensive pension benefit calculations
Must have ability to interpret contract factors and make decisions based off of industry changes/standards
Structured analysis, interpretations and ultimate resolution of complex scenarios are required
Makes decisions that impact data accuracy which ultimately affects cost/revenue
Applies product knowledge and critical thinking skills to handle problems independently but seeks guidance in highly complex situations
Applies basic PC skills
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to comprehend contract language
Must be able to navigate Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint and Access)
Strong Excel Skills Required (Macro/Complex Formula Calc Spreadsheet Builds)
Has at least 2-5+ years of defined benefit/pension buy-out experience
Bachelor's Degree Required
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Actuarial Experience/Testing is Preferred
Master's Degree Preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
